Before I got into GIS I was a semantic web hacker and now I see the geospatial standards community turning towards semantic web kinds of problems and reinventing a lot of stuff. And there are many different specialist communities with their own best practises, medical information modellers, chemists and biophysicists… it frustrates me that we all live in these bubbles, and the Google approach is still trampling it all. Too many problems look RDF shaped to me. I get frustrated about metadata and sometimes a bit obsessive and that is why i have started a blog on the subject, to dissipate my angst.
